MYSORE DASARA 2010

 The message of Dasara is being spread to every nook and corner of the State this time to beckon the people to Mysore during the Nadahabba.
For the first time in the history of Dasara, the Publicity Committee has launched a massive campaign — Kala Jatha — with four vehicles carrying artistes to four corners of the State.
Minister S.A. Ramdas flagged off the journey on wheels at Mysore Palace premises this morning. Deputy Commissioner Harsha Gupta, Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal, Publicity Committee Working President Vijayaranjan Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. C. G. Betsurmath, Deputy Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Deputy Director of Information Prakash, KEA Chairman B.P. Manjunath and other dignitaries were present.
The four vehicles — Tempo Travelers — sporting Dasara posters, will travel in four different routes to cover all the 29 districts with the artistes performing cultural items and street plays on the theme of Dasara. Beginning today, the publicity vehicles will tour the State till Oct. 1. They will visit a minimum of five places and a maximum of eight places daily.
Deputy Commissioners and District Information Officers will take care of the troupes during the journey. About 150 folk artistes accompanied the vehicles upto K.R. Circle this morning after the launching ceremony.
